Techni Ice

Kawabunga Coolers is happy to feature a terrific Australian invention called Techni IceTM.  Once you try this ice substitute, you'll NEVER buy ice cubes again, except to put in your drinking glass.  We guarantee that Techni IceTM will work better in your ice chest cooler than ice cubes or any other conventional ice substitute, like Blue IceTM.

(Above) Here's an old fashioned ice chest that's been brought into the 21st century..........because there aren't any ice cubes!!  This ice chest has 4 sheets of Techni Ice wrapped around the beverages, and will keep them cold longer than ice cubes BUT there's no melting ice to make a mess.

A great deal of effort went into the development of this high performance ice substitute to replace dry ice for the safe transportation of perishable products.  Techni IceTM is used in many commercial and medical applications including the transport of pathology samples, farm produce, chocolate and other temperature sensitive products.

The reason that Techni IceTM stays cold longer.........is because it starts out colder!  Water and other replacement ice products freeze around 32 degrees F. and go down to the mid-twenties, whereas you can take Techni IceTM down to below ZERO degree F., or whatever your home freezer is set at.  Since it's colder to begin with, it keeps your perishables cold longer.  Plus, the non-toxic polymer mixture warms up (it doesn't melt) slower than ice cubes, et all.

Techni IceTM:

  • Stays frozen for DAYS (with proper insulation)
  • Reusable over and over
  • Ideal for your ice box on long weekend outings
  • The ultimate flexible, wrap around ice pack for injuries
  • And it doubles as a hot pack for muscle aches or keeping food hot.
  • Can be cut to any size to fit the smallest freezer compartment or lunch box
  • Can be used to keep perishable medication, like insulin, cold for extended periods of time, making it great for vacations.
  • Is non-toxic and will not stain
  • Low price!!  A packet of Techni Ice costs the same as a couple bags of ice from your local supermarket, but that ice melts right away while you'll be using your Techni Ice for YEARS.  That makes it a LOT cheaper than those messy ice cubes.
  • Low price!!  We continually check other web sites to ensure we have the lowest prices.

(Above) The TechniTM Ice sheets on the left are about 1/16 inch thick, but when Techni IceTM is hydrated (i.e., placed in water) they swell up to 3/4 inch thick.

Techni IceTM is manufactured in Australia to the highest commercial standards, and is approved for direct contact with food products.

Techni IceTM comes in sheets that measure 10 inches by 15.6 inches and consists of 24 cells per sheet.

Above)  Techni IceTM is absolutely made to order for soft sided cooler bags.  Let's face it.....using ice cubes in these soft bags is horrible!  The bags leak, bulge and make a big mess when the bag falls over and your ice cubes bounce across the floor.  Blue IceTM bricks are too small, aren't cold enough and they make a permanent stain when (not if) they spring a leak.  But frozen Techni IceTM sheets are flexible, colder than ice cubes, last longer and they don't make any mess whatsoever.

The myriad of uses for Techni IceTM is only limited by your imagination.  You can even cut it into strips, roll it into a bandanna and use it as a neck cooler on real hot days.  I don't know how long Techni IceTM sheets will last, but the manufacturer guarantees it for 4 years, and I have personally been using (and reusing) the same sheets for over 5 years!

FREE TIP !! To make ANY ice chest super efficient, use bubble wrap.  Yup, that same cheap bubble wrap you've been throwing away can make your ice chest keep things colder longer.  After you've put your food and beverage and Techni Ice tm into your ice chest, roll a few layers of bubble wrap across the top and then close the lid.  Since hot air pours into your ice chest every time you open the lid, the bubble wrap acts as an extra layer of insulation.  Simply reach under the bubble wrap to remove what you need and then close the lid, and the cold air will remain undisturbed below the bubble wrap.  REMEMBER - the more insulation you have....the colder everything remains !!
